Air Texture

Machine Melody. A survey of leftfield and experimental electronic music, where two producers are invited select a CD each of unreleased electronic music for combined release. Electronic music was experimental art before it became mainfloor mover: from Satie's furniture music and La Monte Young's drones to Cage's I Ching compositions, NWDR (Nordwestdeutscher Rundfunk) with Stockhausen in Cologne; RTF (Radiodiffusion-Télévision Franglaise) with Pierre Schaffer in Paris; and the Compositions for Tape Recorder by Vladimir Ussachevsky and Otto Luening presented at MOMA in New York. With a reverential nod to the past and a focus on the new approaches, Air Texture looks to catalog and promote the diverse world of experimental electronic music through the musician's perspective.
