Riding the successes of last year's brilliant debut full length "Bring Out The Imps", IMPS return with a collection of exclusive remixes from their favorite artists making electronic music today. For the uninitiated,IMPS are the collaboration between super-duo Swedish producers Sebastian Mullaert and Marcus Henriksson aka MINILOGUE (of Cocoon, Traum, Crosstown Rebels and Wagon Repair fame) and DECAY, the Australian multi-instrumentalist duo of Ian Chaplin and Philip Rex. Together they came up with one of 2008's most innovative full length's which earned global critical praise. To categorize IMPS would be blasphemous however POPMATTER's effectively reviewed their album as being "slowed-down techno grooves provid(ing) a firm, dubby foundation for blissful Rhodes melodies and earthy double bass". Simply titled "Remixed", this collection brings together a group of today's most influential electronic music producers on the planet are joined together by the beautiful musicianship of "Bring Out The Imps"...legendary producer THOMAS FEHLMANN hits things off by a re-edit route, hitting all the right buttons with a psychedelic depth that reminisces his work with The Orb. Portand based STRATEGY (Community Library, Orac, Dreck) take a very jazzy, down-tempo take on "Get A Grip, where MOVE D - one of today's most buzzed about house producers - keeps his reputation for impeccable loop-drenched groove by bumping up the BPM a bit and adding a scent of Detroit's deep-house vibe. ISOLEE - a man who needs no introduction being one of the most influential producers of the late-'90's makes a rare appearance in his signature swinging flow with a playfully rhythmic remix. JAN JELINEK is a man of mood and atmospheric grace and creates a highlight remix reminiscent of the work from GAS which eases and builds along in delightful loops of saxophone and a thudding undertone which gives an organic breath to the music. Japan's deep-house leader KUNIYUKI under the guise of KOSS follows perfectly after JELINEK with a gorgeous remix that sways between pop-ambient melancholy and trippy heroin-house. Finally, IMPS members MIILOGUE take their own jab at remix duties pulling together yet another epic tech-house anthem to add to their already long adored collection of dance-floor raisers.
