Since his first steps behind the turntables at the end of the 80's, FLORENT is regarded as one of the most promising actors of the French electro minimal scene . Complete artist, it traverses the sphere as well thanks to his talents of DJ as to those of producer and in particular has just joined the prestigious German label Kompakt. With leaning for the long sets which enable him to develop its eclecticism and its musical originality, FLORENT dissociates himself by playing a music groovy but resolutely dancefloor. He mixes with subtlety house, techno and electro, minimal percussions and hypnotic melodies. A travel through various atmospheres which already allured the many public ones of which that of Rex in Paris,Cafe 1001 in London, Gorod Club in Moscow, of Hradhouse Festival as a Czech Republic, Terminal Session in South Africa or El Diablo in Mauritius. But let us retrogress a little… Rocked by the funk music since his more young age, FLORENT begins the deejaying as of 14 years. Then, influenced by the first vague house music of the Eighties but also by groups like Depeche Mode or B52' S, it moves quite naturally towards the techno in 1990. Musicaly opened, it follows very close to Detroit's scene without forgetting to keep an attentive ear with the other musical currents. In 1992 it “hangs” on the minimal one and that its style is specified. It approaches gradually this current then, while preserving the side electro and groove that it affectionate still today. And the same applies to its productions because he starts to compose… 1999, FLORENT releases his first EP under the name of FLO. Very quickly, it carries out its desire of independence and that to produce other artists. In 2002, he create its own label, Funktion Records. The majority of its releases are remixed by DJ of reputation such as Rino Cerrone, Emerson, Preach or Oxia… Side scene, the dates multiply. In parallel, it continues its activity of label manager.
