Our AIFF files are original master quality and support album artwork and full tags. However, since these original AIFF files are uncompressed, one minute of music will result in a file that is about 10 MB in size, thus it is quite hungry for hard drive space.
Most of our MP3s are encoded at 320 Kbps CBR (Constant Bit Rate) using the LAME encoder. 320 Kbps is the highest possible bit rate setting an MP3 file can have, and this higher bit rate generally results in superior sound quality as well as a closer representation of the original sound.
Please note that files from some older releases are encoded at 224 Kbps CBR.
