In 2003, DJ Spiller founded Nano Rec in Venice, Italy. He established the label with the aim of producing house and electronic music independently while maintaining full creative control over its image and A&R. Over the course of a decade, Nano Rec became renowned for releasing Spiller's music and nurturing the talents of emerging Italian artists who were signed exclusively to the label, such as Glitch, 2 Guys in Venice, Mawkish, and DJ Color. It also boasted an impressive roster of established artists including Scuola Furano, The Superman Lovers, Louis La Roche, Domenico Torti, and Bottin. The celebrated graffiti artist Cento Canesio curated the label's visual identity, including its logo and artwork, for its first decade. As the label enters a new era in 2023, it will focus on the inimitable talents of Spiller, featuring fresh material as well as revisiting some of his greatest hits.
