Routine Issue is a reaction to the idea that the underground is dead and everyone is a sellout. We don’t care about sales, or how many people are listening to what we are doing, as we believe that thinking about those things too much would adversely affect what we choose to release.
We feel the need for an outlet that isn’t trying to second guess its audience, and that is driven by artistic and creative decisions rather than economic or attention driven ones. We hope that we are adding to the signal rather than the noise. We refuse to worship money.
Curated by music lifer Mark Hawkins, Routine Issue will be a routinely issuing 2 fresh slices of music on a monthly basis, and will feature both previously known and unknown artists alongside Hawkins’ own work.
