Berlin-based Russian expat Philipp Gorbachev is about to unleash his full-length debut "Silver Album" via Cómeme. Expected for early June, it's billed as the "first Russian dance album" and indeed the mastermind behind last year's "Hero Of Tomorrow" EP commits to his native tongue throughout the whole venture - not that we understood his lyrics before, as the DIY punk ethos prevalent in Philipp's work usually extends to wonderfully nonsensical singing/yelling/speaking. Speaking of whimsical punk stylings, the upcoming nine-track release was produced in part by Paul Leary of alt-rock freak virtuosos Butthole Surfers and features an appearance from Battles drummer John Stanier.
