Kompakt meets Cluster
Am ersten März 2023 feiert Kompakt 30sten Geburtstag. Neben unterschiedlichsten Spielarten der elektronischen Musik zwischen tanzbar und kopfbar, steht Kompakt auch schon immer für sein markantes, optisches Erscheinungsbild. Für seinen pop artigen Look. Neben unzähligen Plattencovern externer Künstler und Künstlerinnen sind es vor allem die hauseigenen, seriellen Entwürfe für die Pop Ambient Kompilation Reihe, sowie die über die Jahre immer weiter variierten „Kompakt Punkte“ oder der sogenannte „Kompakt Adler“, der auf dem Kölner Stadtwappen basiert und zum schlagkräftigsten Logo/Symbol des Labels geworden ist.
Grund genug für die renommierte Kunst-Institution Contemporary Cluster in Rom, Kompakt einzuladen, die visuelle Seite ihrer Musik zu zeigen. Vom 16. bis 19. März wird es einen Pop Up Store mit ausgesuchten Vinyl- und Merch Produkten geben, sowie eine Plattencover- und Artwork-Ausstellung. Darüberhinaus wird die Pop Ambient Kunst Ausstellung von Veronika Unland zu sehen sein, sowie eine Auswahl aus Wolfgang Voigts umfangreichem bildnerischen Schaffen, die einen Einblick in die interdisziplinäre, künstlerische Praxis zwischen Kunst und Musik im Hause Kompakt geben.
Am Eröffnungsabend wird es eine Ambient Live und DJ Musik Präsentation von Wolfgang Voigt und Veronika Unland in der Ausstellung geben. Im Anschluss findet die Vernissage Party im Sanctuary Club mit Michael Mayer, Fango und AMSL statt.
Als Dokumentation zur Ausstellung und der Kollaboration mit Kompakt, wird Contemporary Cluster den Kunstbuch-Bildband „ Kompakt – Music. Art. Life.“ veröffentlichen.

First of March 2023, Kompakt celebrates its 30th birthday. In addition to numerous styles of electronic music between Techno and Ambient, Kompakt has always stood for its distinctive and striking visual appearance. For its Pop Art-like look. Apart from countless record covers by external artists, it is the in-house, serial designs for the Pop Ambient compilation series, as well as the Kompakt dots" or the so-called "Kompakt eagle", which is based on the Coat of Arms of the City of Cologne, which has become the most powerful logo/symbol of the label.
Reason enough for the renowned art institution Contemporary Cluster in Rome to invite Kompakt to show the visual side of their music. From March 16-19, there will be a pop up store with selected vinyl and merch products, as well as a record cover and artwork exhibition. Furthermore the Pop Ambient Art exhibition by Veronika Unland will be on display, as well as a selection from Wolfgang Voigt's extensive visual work, which will provide an interdisciplinary artistic practice between art and music in the house of Kompakt.
On the opening night there will be an Ambient Live and DJ music presentation within the exhibition, by Wolfgang Voigt and Veronika Unland. Afterwards there will be the Vernissage Party at the Sanctuary Club with Michael Mayer, Fango and AMSL.
As documentation of the exhibition and the collaboration with Kompakt, Contemporary Cluster will publish the art book "Kompakt – Music. Art. Life.".
