Kompakt Recordstore Session - International Women´s Day Special (08.03.2025)

Am 08. März wird weltweit der internationale Frauentag gefeiert! Vor genau 50 Jahren (1975), wurde dieser Tag zum ersten Mal mit einem großen Fest durch die UN geehrt. Auch Kompakt möchte zu diesem Jubiläum ein kleines Fest ausrichten und so haben wir entschieden, die Recordstore Session an diesem Tag mit 5 Künstlerinnen zu gestalten und mit ihnen bis in den Abend hinein zu feiern! Hier das Programm von 14:00-20:00 Uhr: Ab 14:00 Uhr wird uns unsere liebe ehemalige Kollegin Vicky aka Visky mit einem extravaganten DJ Set beglücken. Zwischen Electronica, Ambient und Downtempo wird Visky euch auf eine Reise der Entspannung und Abenteuerlust mitnehmen. Direkt im Anschluss wird es ein rares Live-Set von der Kölner Klangkünstlerin Maria Wildeis geben. Seit vielen Jahren arbeitet Maria mit verschiedenen Performance- und Installationskünstler:innen zusammen und engagiert sich für die Entstehung von Kunstveranstaltungen und neuen Art-Spaces in NRW. Ihre aktuelle LP "Deep Meaning" ist kürzlich auf dem Label Magazine erschienen und wir sind sehr gespannt, was Maria für ihren Auftritt in unserem Plattenladen vorbereitet hat. Als nächstes freuen wir uns sehr über ein DJ Set von der wunderbaren Tereza. Tereza ist DJ und Radiomoderatorin (Worldwide FM) und hat ihren Background im Hip-Hop Bereich. Diesen Einfluss verbindet sie mit elektronischen Genres wie House, Disco und UK-Classics. EPHIE, Resident im Goethebunker in Essen, wird danach das Tempo ein wenig anziehen. Eigentlich ist der minimale und darke Techno ihr Zuhause, aber sie hat schon im Vorfeld gesagt, dass sie sich für die Recordstore Session etwas ganz Besonderes einfallen lassen wird. Wir sind gespannt auf das Ruhrpott Original. Zu guter Letzt wird es ein kleines Highlight für alle alteingesessenen Kölner:innen geben. Jerry CO hat das letzte Mal vor über 10 Jahren vor einem Publikum gespielt war eine der wichtigsten lokalen DJs in den 90er Jahren. Jerry CO mixt ihre Schallplatten mit so viel Souveränität und Gefühl, wie es sich die meisten DJs nur wünschen können. Ausgehtipps: Tereza spielt neben Tama Sumo und Lakuti im Wuppertaler Open Ground und EPHIE könnt ihr in ihrem Wohnzimmer, dem Goethebunker, für ein ausgelassenes Stelldichein besuchen.

International Women's Day is celebrated worldwide on 8 March! Exactly 50 years ago (1975), this day was honoured for the first time with a big celebration by the UN. Kompakt would also like to organise a small celebration to mark this anniversary and so we have decided to organise the Recordstore Session on this day with 5 artists and celebrate with them into the evening! Here is the programme from 2pm-8pm: From 2pm our dear former colleague Vicky aka Visky will delight you with an extravagant DJ set. Between electronica, ambient and downtempo, Visky will take you on a journey of relaxation and adventures. Directly afterwards, there will be a rare live set by Cologne sound artist Maria Wildeis. Maria has been working with various performance and installation artists for many years and is committed to the creation of art events and new art spaces in NRW. Her latest LP ‘Deep Meaning’ was recently released on the label Magazine and we are very excited to see what Maria has prepared for her performance in our record shop. Next up, we are delighted to have a DJ set from the wonderful Tereza. Tereza is a DJ and radio presenter (Worldwide FM) and has her background in the hip-hop scene. She combines this influence with electronic genres such as house, disco and UK classics. EPHIE, resident at the Goethebunker in Essen, will then pick up the tempo a little. Actually, minimal and dark techno is her home, but she has already said in advance that she will come up with something very special for the Recordstore Session. We are looking forward to the Ruhrpott original. Last but not least, there will be a little highlight for all long-established Cologne people. The last time Jerry CO played in front of an audience was over 10 years ago and she was one of the most important local DJs in the 90s. Jerry CO mixes her records with as much sovereignty and feeling as most DJs could wish for. Tips for the night: Tereza will be playing alongside Tama Sumo and Lakuti at the Open Ground in Wuppertal and you can visit EPHIE in her living room, the Goethebunker in Essen, for an exuberant get-together.
