Belgian Postpostdubstep label Vlek already dispersed any notion of genre conformity with its last release, Sagat's dystopian "Few Mysteries Solved In A Year Of Contact" 12" EP whose deliciously twitching Break 'n' Roll antics didn't help to contain the label's freeform spirit (check out the unsettling teaser here). Now, Vlek sends product predictability to hell with their newest catalogue number... which happens to be an app rather than a record: "Beatsurfing" from developers Herrmutt Lobby and Yaniv De Ridder allows you to draw your own Midi-Controller on your tablet computer and switch settings on the fly, proposing an unrivaled workflow, intuitive playing and easy studio integration. While other apps promise similar feats, only few come with such an extensive range of tutorials and training materials like this one. That's what we call a longplayer!
