When Kompakt was hosting its pop up store at Cologne's highly reputed art fair Art Cologne earlier this year, Wolfgang Voigt's "Zukunft Ohne Menschen" was one of the most talked about projects - entering the fair, visitors were greeted by the sound installation in the foyer, but that was only one part of the experience: the project's scope only became apparent once you entered a separate room next to the pop up store, where a multimedia concept in ten parts, composed of music, videos and digital painting, was looping for the duration of the fair. Now available as a deluxe book-CD format (comprising 10 pieces of music and 10 works of visual art), "Zukunft Ohne Menschen" doesn't fail to impress the inquiring mind even on a smaller scale.
