Marc Matter’s and Stefan Römer’s »a child of pop and movies (short version, voice: Martha Rosler)« is a demo version of a musical composition of the same name which is featured on their recent 12” vinyl record »Deconceptual Voicings« (Mount Analogue / Slimvolume). The record uses interviews with influential conceptual artists, e.g. Martha Rosler, recorded primarily for the film essay »Conceptual Paradise« (2006) by Stefan Römer. Speech fragments, syllables and consonants were processed into rhythmic patterns, while slogans, statements and text passages were turned into sprechgesang.
