Flow State EP Binary Algorithms

On the night of April 11, Andrés Ávila was the victim of a home burglary, losing his primary computer — a central tool in his production process. Flow State emerges in the immediate aftermath, with all profits from the release dedicated to rebuilding that setup.

The EP brings together a set of tracks that were never originally intended to coexist. Developed over time and left aside due to their lack of shared context, these pieces now align through circumstance rather than design — forming a release defined by tension, control and continuity under pressure.

Across the EP, Ávila sharpens his focus on physicality and system response within a restrained techno framework. The language is mechanical, but the intent is not purely functional — each track explores a different stage of control, limit and release.

Opening track Brake Bias sets the tone with a sense of calibrated restraint, where subtle shifts in balance guide the movement forward. Redline follows by pushing into higher intensity, driven by urgency and sustained pressure, hovering at the edge of collapse without tipping over. On Lift Off, the energy partially withdraws — a moment of release that alters the internal dynamics, introducing space while maintaining tension. Closing track Endure strips things down further, focusing on persistence and continuity, where motion is no longer driven by force, but by necessity.

While Flow State does not rely on traditional cohesion, its strength lies in the underlying thread that connects these tracks: a system adapting in real time, holding together through shifts, limits and interruption.
