Folk Us Renato Ratier

Brazilian producer and promotional powerhouse behind both D-Edge and Warung clubs, Renato Ratier is also in the middle of a production purple patch. Soon to release his debut full-length album, here he serves up a new single complete with remixes from D-Edge regular Luke Solomon and Davis. The original is a mid paced, lushly organic and instrument laced piece of timeless house music. With all sorts of string instruments lacing up the wavy groove, some sombre piano chords and melancholic vocals help create a really heart felt track. Classic Music boss and musical maverick Luke Solomon ups the tech ante slightly. There is still a dreamy, trippy vibe to his melodies but the percussion is that bit sharper and more engaging. His drums are loose and groovy and the whole arrangement is dynamic from start to finish. Finally, the Davis remix really gets loose and strident. Big searching synths spray across the face of the track and the kick drums sound all rubbery and classic like a Kerri Chandler joint slowed to a sexier tempo. With bright and vibrant synths it’s a colourful track that rounds out another tidy EP from Ratier.
