Summer is here. It smells like charcoal, grass and sunscreen. It flashes naked skin and shiny smiles. It tastes like strawberry ice cream and cold beer. It sounds like this record, on which the Danish Lasse Bruhn Svendsen set pure open air euphoria to music.

Up there, “On The Hill”, he’s stacking up layers of juicy synth-arpeggios and cooking them in a spicy groove stock until they reach their atmospheric boiling point. While doing so, he’s whistling a cheerful melody, a melody you won’t get out of your head that easy. Inside “The Elephant Cage”, life has a different pace, leisurely like a sultry summer day. Reminiscent of a movie soundtrack, this song is very epic and takes the one or the other humorous turn. On the flipside, the complementary interpretations of Mollono.Bass can be found: He serves a crispy and refreshing version of “On The Hill”, that still keeps the same amount of music as the original. Furthermore he teaches the Elephant to dance- of course this manoeuvre turns out to be a both thrilling and cinematic one.
