Violet Michael Rosmann

Hailing from Nuremberg, Michael Rosmann is a revered producer, DJ and event manager who specialises in functional, dub-infused Techno.

With his finger in many pies - Rosmann has developed a breadth of experience that is evident in his productions and DJ sets which often carry a stamp of potent simplicity. His latest EP 'Violet' is a pack of rattling and mesmerising productions which come backed up with a remix from Hotflush affiliate Anna Kost.

The title track kicks things off with deft dynamics as a metallic stab bounces off against striking stabs and powerful drums. 'Purpur' then follows up with a demonic sequence and stout percussion which are set together into a mind-bending polyrhythm before 'Nam Ba' soundtracks a chaotic but exhilarating trip. Filters set a fiery motif searing through a short drum break which is cleverly sequenced into a functional DJ tool.

Anna Kost then concludes the record with a distorted, dystopian remix of 'Violet'. Scattered snares, nifty kick work and a adroit use of FX create a rich sense of depth in a track that depicts staggered strobes burning through sweat and smoke.
