Long-standing underground project TERRANOVA returned in 2012 with HOTEL AMOUR, a brilliantly sequenced guide to 21st century House, and the album’s success with both critics and fans proved band members Fetisch and &ME right. Now, they return with the NIGHTPORTER EP, a comprehensive collection of remixes by dancefloor experts like Gui Boratto, Rampa, Torb and David Mayer.
GUI BORATTO starts off proceedings with Hotel Amour’s last track “Prayer” featuring Udo Kier and Nicolette Krebitz on vocal duties, turning the introspective original into a true mover and shaker for the new age without tearing apart the song’s delicate fabric. It makes for a formidable entry point to the Nightporter EP, setting its sights just as firmly on the floor as Keinemusik’s RAMPA who shows some remix love to “Ain’t No Thing” feat. Snax, one of Hotel Amour’s very best tracks. A label mate to Terranova’s &ME, Rampa’s doing a damn fine job in tweaking the atmosphere, cooking up a different feeling with the exact same ingredients.
New grades of intensity, that’s also what the TORB remix of “Take My Hand” is going for, as it takes a classically structured House blueprint and transforms it into a steamy, futuristic roller for the more adventurous moments of the night. It’s a near-magical metamorphosis from a casual stroll on the floor to a full-scale walkabout through metropolitan nightlife, but that’s no amazement to the initiated as no other than the legendary MOTORBASS studio is hiding behind the Torb monicker. Together with talented newcomer DAVID MAYER losing himself in the seductive bassline of “I Want To Go Out” , the Nightporter EP offers up more bounce to the ounce in every way imaginable, making this release a must-play for DJs and punters alike.

GUI BORATTO macht den Anfang mit seiner Neubearbeitung von “Prayer”, dem ursprünglich letzten Track von Hotel Amour, und verwandelt das introspektive Original in einen treibende Kraft für ein neues Zeitalter, ohne jedoch das zarte Gewebe des Songs zu zerstören. Ein idealer Startpunkt für die Nightporter EP, den Tanzflur ebenso fest im Visier wie RAMPA, der “Ain’t No Thing” - einem der besten Tracks des Albums - ein wenig Remix-Liebe spendiert. Und er macht seinen Job verdammt gut, justiert die Stimmung, kocht mit den gleichen Ingredienzen ein komplett neues Rezept zusammen.
Da strebt auch der TORB-Remix von “Take My Hand” hin, der eine klassisch strukturierte House-Vorlage in eine dampfende, futuristische Maschinerie verwandelt, passgenau zugeschnitten auf die abenteuerlicheren Momente der Nacht. Fast meint man es mit Magie zu tun zu haben, wenn der kleine Spaziergang am Rande des Tanzflurs zu einer ausgewachsenen Rundreise durchs großstädtische Nachtleben mutiert, doch sollte das nicht verwundern, verbirgt sich hinter Torb doch das legendäre MOTORBASS-Studio.
