Pandemic Meerkats
How is it even possible to say “pandemic” in one breath with words like “beautiful”, “uplifting”, “inspiring”? It’s actually quite easy: Let’s talk a few sentences about the new Meerkats EP, called Pandemic. The DJ and producer from Berlin dedicated a melodic-technoid groove triptychon to the difficult time we live in. Fluorescent synthesizer frequencies create a twilight atmosphere of introspection and for a moment we’re not sure whether this trip leads us into the depth of the night or into the dawn of a new morning. Then the thoroughly positive and life-affirming rhythm takes hold of us, and all of a sudden a jolt of hope sends us flying.
Wie kriegen wir es hin, den Begriff “Pandemie” in einem Atemzug mit den Worten “großartig”, “kurzweilig” und “inspirierend” zu nennen? Ganz einfach: Indem wir hier ein paar Sätze über die Pandemic EP von Meerkats sprechen. Darauf hat der Berliner DJ und Produzent der schwierigen Zeit, in der wir leben, ein melodiös-technoides Groove-Triptychon gewidmet. Fluoreszierende Synthesizer-Frequenzen zeichnen die Denkmuster tiefer Introspektion ins Zwielicht unserer Wahrnehmung und für einen Moment ist uns nicht klar, ob die Reise uns ins einbrechende Dunkel der Nacht oder die Morgendämmerung eines neuen Tages führt. Dann besinnen wir uns auf den lebensbejahenden Rhythmus und ein plötzlicher Hoffnungsschub katapultiert uns in die Höhe.
