"Come dance with me and see what it's like on the other side of the universe come and take a ride" Patrice Scott and his releases on Sistrum Detroit, Jus Ed, Omar S and all the new protagonists of warm unperfection might be the main inspiration for the latest relesases of Larwence aka Sten. These deep and dirty House tracks are built to dance. The lightfull wooden sound starter "Compulsion" is known to the people who joined a live set of lawrence in the past two years. A superlow crunchy bassline fills the minimal chordish track. Nearly same structured "Pond" can be regarded as the essence of the new Lawrence universe. "Laid One" simply is an hommage to the first days of Chicago House, a track for the Box.
"Come dance with me and see what it's like on the other side of the universe come and take a ride" Nach geschichteten Sound Spielereien und einem Entwurf naiver Tanzmusik zieht es Peter M. Kersten zurück auf den Deephousefloor. Dies deutet sich bereits bei seinem Release "Lowlights From The Past And Future" an, erschienen auf Mule Electronics Japan und auch das letzten Release seines Sten Alter Egos (dial 37) bewegt ich in solchen Sphären. Mit "Compulsion", bringt Lawrence die Hingabe zu simpler Housemusic auf den Punkt. Dieser extrem aufgeräumte, aber arg dreckig und roh klingende Track, ist eine Hommage an die Unperfektheit früher Chicagohouse Stücke. Titeltrack dieser 12inch "Pond" ist der Sistrum Posse um Patrice Scott gewidmet und eben von jener Szene inspiriert während "Laid One" wieder an die Ursprüngen des House Sound of Chicago erinnert: ein Disco Loop, plus Bass, Chord und Strings: ein Track für die Box.
