Vs Prins Thomas Justus Köhncke

We at KOMPAKT are not really known to be the remix-catapulters. It can easily be argued about the sense or non-sense regarding remixes. Because many remixes are unfortunately just boring commissional works with no gravity or passion. But it's where things get interesting when a remix is made based on pure dedication. The Norwegian Prins Thomas is one of the most productive producers of these days. With his buddies Lindstrøm and Todd Terje he has wiped disco clean and fresh for the new century. His adoration for Justus Köhncke's instrumental electronic disco- opus "Elan" brought these two together. A kinship of respect was born - as Justus also was reared on the mother´s milk of disco. Out of their equal passion for similar music came out the idea of a cooperation. Well, if truth be known, Prins Thomas just wanted to re-record Justus' beloved single "Elan" together with the Full Pupp String Ensemble. Then out of the blue, he started working on "Advance" as well. Finally, Justus couldn´t deny himself to contribute a fine ambient-ish bonustrack called "Tilda"... So there you have it, a remix single of the most significant and wonderful kind!
