Wunderbar Riechmann

*Wunderbar* is the only solo album by Wolfgang Riechmann (1947–1978) – a quiet milestone in German electronic music. Situated between the Berlin School and the Düsseldorf scene, the album combines hypnotic sequences with warm, melodic arcs, stripping electronic music of its supposed coldness. Riechmann, who played with members of Neu! and Kraftwerk, among others, and became known through Streetmark, developed a wholly unique, atmospheric sonic language here. Recorded from November 1977, Wunderbar was tragically not released until after his untimely death in August 1978. To this day, it is regarded as a timeless document of a more sensitive, emotional electronic aesthetic.
