Mohn was one of many musical collaborations (see also Burger/Voigt, Burger/Ink) between Wolfgang Voigt and Jörg Burger. A first sign of life by Mohn was released in 2011 with the track "Tiefental" on the Total 12 compilation. In April 2012, Kompakt released their debut album, also simply titled "Mohn".

With "Mohn", according to the online magazine Pitchfork, Burger and Voigt "once again assembled an ambient record that avoids devolving into the agreeable twinkly mush that so often characterizes the genre at its least creative".

Our favorite author Marc Lansley also wrote an info sheet about this wonderful album at the time, and it's definitely worth reading it again while you listen through the 16 tracks we've uploaded to our download store. Included are the album tracks, the compilation contributions "Manifesto" and "Tiefental", the remixes of "Ebertplatz 2020" and "Saturn" as well as "Das Ultimatum".
