Two theories, two perspectives within the discourse of art and music are, as it were, alternating in beautiful regularity. On the one hand the aspect of "timelessness" and on the other hand "that things can come back if they know why they were gone". In the end, this doesn't matter in the best sense in the historical classification of good music.

This also applies to REINHARD VOIGT's album STURM, which was first released in 1999 on the Frankfurt label Mille Plateaux. Somewhere between Ambient and Clicks & Cuts, the loops sometimes move droningly dark, sometimes groovy, inside and apart. A wonderfully self-forgotten sound frenzy that beamed us without any sentimentality or backwardness into the freedom and lightness of the 90s in which this music was invented …

zwei Theorien, zwei Blickwinkel der Betrachtung von Kunst und Musik geben sich in schöner Regelmäßigkeit gewissermaßen die Diskursklinke in die Hand. Zum einen der Aspekt der "Zeitlosigkeit", zum anderen, "dass Dinge zurückkommen dürfen, wenn sie wissen, warum sie weg waren". Am Ende spielt das bei der historischen Einordnung von guter Musik aber im besten Sinne keine Rolle.

Das trifft auch auf das Album STURM von REINHARD VOIGT zu, das erstmals 1999 auf dem Frankfurter Label Mille Plateaux erschienen ist. Irgendwo zwischen Ambient und Clicks & Cuts bewegen sich die Loops mal dronig düster, mal groovig leicht, in- und auseinander. Ein wunderbar selbstvergessener Soundtaumel, der uns ohne jede Sentimentalität oder Rückwärtsgewandtheit in die Freiheit und Leichtigkeit der 90er Jahre beamt, in denen diese Musik erfunden wurde ...
