In 2009, Time Warp celebrates its 15th anniversary in Mannheim and the “International Festival for Contemporary Music and Media Arts” enters it’s third round.
On the 4th of April 2009 the anniversary of this event will be celebrated on four different stages in the Maimarkthalle. A huge line up of national and international stars from the last fifteen years of Time Warp as well as newcomers worth listening to will be celebrated by a variegated, pan-European audience. The extensive and individual stage performance and light shows for each floor and the special atmosphere of the Time Warp, appreciated by the stars as well as the fans, complete the programme perfectly.
For the 15th anniversary, Laurent Garnier’s appearence could be confirmed as a further highlight of the programme. Together with his band, Laurent Garnier will present his new album “Tales of a Kleptomaniac” in a live performance, a German premiere. Immediately after he will be DJing in the glass pavilion as he already did in 2008 with an unforgettable set. Also, the newcomer Sis from Mannheim was confirmed as a further act. Last year, Sis celebrated his breakthrough with the hit “Trumpet” on Ricardo Villalobos’ label “Sei es drum”.
The performances of Sven Väth, Richie Hawtin, Carl Cox, Dave Clarke, Magda, Ricardo Villalobos, Loco Dice, Anthony Rother – live and many more will complete an excellent programme and thus a befitting line up for this anniversary, which will perfectly crown the annual highlight of the festival week. The complete line up can be found at www.time-warp.de.
On the 28th of March 2009 the Time Warp festival week “International Festival for Contemporary Music and Media Arts” will open for the third year running. Among others, Mathew Johnson with members of the Cobblestone Jazz Band will perform a Cinemix at Mannheim’s Atlantis Cinema. Adolf Noize aka DJ Koze will present a headphone concert at the unique Planetarium.
As in the years before the “Time Warp lab”, the charge free workshop programme of the Time Warp festival, will present musical and technical innovations and possibilities at the Academy for Popular Music.
