Seems to be the beginning of a chill week here at Kompakt, with three fresh ambient releases hitting our front page at the same time. Pop Ambient stalwart Marsen Jules had his finger in two thirds of the available pies: besides presenting his own new full-length "Beautyfear" on Oktaf Records, he's also contributed to "Pop Ambient 2014", the latest instalment in the classic series. His cut "The Philosophers Trap" is a bizarre soundscape of sublime elegance, a notion perfectly mirrored by the accompanying video: premiered by German lifestyle/art outfit Monopol, it was produced by Swedish artist Anders Weberg and captures the mood of the piece with floating, human-like silhouettes. Don't forget to also have a look at Vermont's "Majestät" - the first single from the new project helmed by Marcus Worgull and Motor City Drum Ensemble's Danilo Plessow. This Monday went down easier than expected!
