Next week sees the official release of the long-awaited new full-length from Kompakt stalwart Hiroshi Watanabe aka Kaito, whose last proper album "Trust" dates back to 2009. With "Until The End Of Time", we find the Japanese luminary crafting a deeply personal narrative in line with his earlier work while carving out the timeless qualities of his trademark sound to interlock with today's floor gusto... meaning that yeah, it definitely sounds like him, but the dreamy, intimate quality is congenially backed up by a strong beat foundation that keeps those swirling tectonic trance antics firmly floor-bound. The primer 12" "Behind My Life" gave us already a taste of the goods to come, and now you can indulge in the semi-abstract imagery of meshing clouds from the album teaser video to be found here... Kaito might just have outdone himself this time around.
